The NSTF Prize for Initiative was set up in 1979. The “NSTF-Prize for Initiative” awards the spirit of Initiative of a young student in each secondary school who, throughout the scholastic year, distinguishes him/herself through sustained innovative and unusual actions or undertakings of encouragement and support towards fellow students or the community.

The main objective is: “to encourage and reward students who show particular initiative in extra-curricular activities and amongst their school friends"
 
Participation:

• Secondary schools nominate one student from their school on a yearly basis.
• The school supports its nomination with a report on the initiative shown by the nominee throughout the scholastic year.
• The NSTF Prize for Initiative is presented to the selected student on the occasion of the School’s Prize Day.
